
Joyce M. Bolander Joyce M. Bolander, 83, Kingsford, Mich., died Thursday, April 16 at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Born Aug. 30, 1925 in Kingsford, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (Clarice Corrigan) Olsen. She attended the Kingsford schools, graduating from Kingsford High School in 1943. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsford. She married Andrew Bolander on Oct. 12, 1946 in Kingsford, and shared more than 62 years together.
She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Thomas (Shelby) Bolander of Iron Mountain; four daughters, Jeanne Bolander of Kingsford, Debra (Jeff) Bussiere of Iron River, Gail DeClark of Niagara, and Karen (James) Bolander-Murphy of St. Louis Park, Minn.; three sisters, Irene (David) Cavaliere of Iron Mountain, Lenore Kosovec of Kingsford, and Joanne Hebert of Norway; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her best friend, Eleanor (George) Pera of Kingsford, many nieces, nephews, along with brothers and sisters-in-law of the Bolander Family.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kay Lynn Bolander.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Fr. Michael Woempner will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery. Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
