Mildred Mae Grabowsky
Mildred Mae Grabowsky, 90, of Menominee passed away at her home on Monday, June 15.
Born in Hermansville, Mi. on April 24, 1919 to the late James and Nellie (Carmody) Garrigan, she graduated from Stephenson High School.
She furthered her education at Jordan College and received a teaching certificate from Menominee County Normal. She taught in Ingallston Township and Birch Creek. She married John Grabowsky at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson, Mi. on Oct. 3, 1940 and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1994. Prior to retirement, she and her husband worked for many years at Fish Net & Twine Industries. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek, Mi. and was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Menominee County Historical Society and St. Anne Sodality.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Grabowsky and two sisters-in-law, Mary Johnson and June Ebbole, all of Menominee and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 20 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Fr. Joseph Vandannoor will officiate and burial will be in the Stephenson Cemetery. Cadieu Funeral Home, Menominee is assisting the family.
