
Timothy M. OBrien A memorial service was held for Timothy M. OBrien, 56, at 7 p.m. at the Lemieux-Thielen Funeral Home, Menominee, Mi. on Wednesday, June 17, with Rev. Ronald Helgerson officiating.
The 20 Year Club provided military honors and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, Mi. He died unexpectedly Friday, June 12, in Alexandria, Minn.
Born March 9, 1953 in Detroit, Mi. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Gerald (Elsabelle Nikke) OBrien, he grew up in Menominee and was a 1971 graduate of Menominee High School.
He served in the United States Army, 565th Engineering Battalion and was discharged in 1974. On Aug. 21, 1976 he married Jean Elizabeth Mary Furst in Hull, Quebec, Canada. He attended Ferris State University receiving a bachelor of science degree in hotel and restaurant management. He began working in Lombard, Ill., and in late 1979 moved to the Green Bay area working as an assistant manger at McDonalds. In 1982 he worked at the Village Inn Restaurant and in 1984 opened the Bonanza Steakhouse. In 1996 he obtained his commercial driver license and joined Fox Midwest and later John Veriha Trucking, Marinette.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; his father-in-law, Eugene Furst of Menominee, Mi.; two brothers-in-law, Lee (Barb) Furst and Bruce J. Furst, both of Green Bay and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Norma Furst.
