Pastor John Laatsch officiated at funeral services on Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m. at Faith United Lutheran Church in Gillett, for Adeline Priebe, 94, of Suring.
Visitation was held at the church from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial followed in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She died in her sleep on Wednesday, June 17.
Born May 16, 1915 in Waubun, Minn., she moved with her family as a young child to Bejou, Minn. and then Table Rock, Neb. After a couple years the family moved back to the Mahnomen, Minn. area.
In 1937 she married Elwood Priebe in Rhinelander and together they raised three daughters. They moved to Milwaukee in 1942 and worked at Badger Meter for 30 years, before retiring and moving to Suring in November of 1982. She joined Faith United Lutheran Church soon after and was member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed sewing for the residents at Woodlands Nursing Home in Suring. She helped out at the Thrift Shop in Shawano and Green Bay and worked with the quilting group until she was no longer able to.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorla Miller of Shawano and Urylene Clements of Suring; a son-in-law, Kenneth of Suring; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Donna Beilke; two sisters, Elsie Hlubek and Rose Landsverk and a brother, Rudy Yhlir.
