Helen Westness, 90, passed away at her daughter, Paulette Klose’s home in Waterford on Monday, June 29.
Born in the Town of Lessor, the daughter of the late Anton and Andrena Jommen spent her early life in Gillett. On Sept. 17, 1941 she married Harold Rudolph Westness, who preceded her in death.
She was formerly of the Oconto area, living the past four and half years in Waterford. She worked for 20 years for Wisconsin Electric, for a time as a waitress and was a full time homemaker. She was an avid bowler and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls for many years. While in the Waterford area she enjoyed knitting sweaters for charity at Norway Lutheran Church of Wind Lake.
She is survived by a daughter, Paulette Klose of Waterford; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Westness.
Services will be held Friday, July 3 at noon at Bethel Lutheran Church, N6955 County Road BB, Oconto Falls with Rev. Tina Scheuller officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, July 3 at 11 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
