
Jennie H. Marzu Rev. William Stengel officiated at a Funeral Mass at S.S. Joseph & Edward Church on Monday, July 27 at 11 a.m. for Jennie H. Marzu, 91, of Porterfield.
Friends called at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. She died Thursday, July 23 at Rennes Health Care Center-East, Peshtigo.
Born Feb. 20, 1918 to the late Michael and Rose (Cicio) Orlando in Athelstane, she attended a local school. She married Carl W. Marzu on June 12, 1943 at St. Augustine Church in Wausaukee and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1998.
She worked her entire life on the farm with her husband, until retiring in 1983. She enjoyed farm life and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of S.S. Joseph & Edward Church, a past member of the Christian Mother’s, the Altar Society and Miles Area Homemakers.
Surviving are a son, Daniel (Mary) Marzu of Porterfield; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Patricia) Kjelstad and Jean Marzu, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Felix (Kate) Orlando of Wausaukee; a sister-in-law, Emma Orlando of Athelstane; a brother-in-law, Jim (Delores) Marzu of Wausaukee; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lubert and Frank and three sisters, Violet Orlando, Angelina Panza and Elsie Farrel.
