
$58,000 Of Marijuana Plants Found In Area A Crime Stoppers tip about marijuana plants growing in a residence and a corn field lead to three arrests during the past two weeks according to a press release by the Northeast Tri County Drug Task Force and Marinette County Sheriff Department.
The first tip concerned the marijuana plants being grown in the home of Michael Wayne Jose, 50, W11097 County Highway C, Athelstane. The tip led to an investigation conducted by the Drug Force and a search warrant executed on Thursday, Sept. 17. Found were 21 marijuana plants growing on the property. Also seized were drug paraphernalia, firearm and ammunition.
Jose was arrested for manufacturing marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. Estimated street value of the marijuana was $11,000. Assisting the Drug Force were the Marinette County Sheriff Department and Marinette Police Department.
Jose had an initial appearance on Monday, Sept. 21, before Judge David Miron in Marinette County Circuit Court. A cash bond of $1,000 was set for his adjourned initial appearance at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19.
A tip from an anonymous citizen about marijuana plants growing in a corn field in the Town of Beaver lead to the arrests of Mark Allen Baker, 48, and Eric Andrew Warmboe, 38, both of Channing, Mich.
The tip was investigated by the Drug Force and led to surveillance of the corn field where the plant were growing. On Wednesday, Sept. 30, both men were arrested at the corn field which had 94 marijuana plants growing. They were charged with the manufacture and deliver of 2,500 to 10,000 grams of marijuana. Estimated street value of the marijuana was $47,000. Assisting were the Marinette County Sheriff Department and Marinette Police Department
Both men had an initial appearance Monday, Oct. 5, in Marinette County Circuit Court before Judge Tim Duket. Cash bond of $15,000 was set for Baker and $5,000 for Warmboe. The court also ordered they have no contact with each other. Both waived extradition from Michigan to Wisconsin. They are scheduled to have adjourned initial appearances at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. before Judge Miron.
The Northeast Tri County Drug Task Force asks the public help in any suspicious activity that maybe taking place or locations of marijuana grows to call Crime Stoppers at 800-427-5857. Callers can remain anonymous and can be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
