
Edgar R. Gilligan Funeral services for Edgar R. Gilligan, 72, of Crivitz, a former Sheboygan resident, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan.
Rev. John M. Berg, Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name. He died at his home in Crivitz on Monday morning, Oct. 19 after battling pancreatic cancer for the past year.
Born Nov. 6, 1936 in Sheboygan to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar (Minnie Garbe) Gilligan, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School.
He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. On Oct. 5, 1957 he married the former Geraldine “Gerri” Luckow. For over 25 years he was employed at Kohler Co., retiring from the Consumer Affairs Department in 1996. Following retirement, the couple moved to High Falls Flowage in Crivitz.
In addition to his wife, Gerri, he is survived by a son, Edward “Eddie” (Suzanne) Gilligan of Howards Grove; two granddaughters; a step-grandson; a brother, Jim (Leona) Gilligan of Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law, Germaine (fiance, Roman Glinzer) Allen of Willow Springs, Mo. and Fran Luckow of Sheboygan and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His parents and a sister, Marion Gilligan preceded him in death.
