
Deborah Kaye Miller Deborah Kaye Miller, 61, of Menominee passed away Monday, Oct. 26.
Born to the late William and Kathryn (Abrams) Cutliff, in Byron, Mi., she grew up in the rural Durand area on Miller Rd. and graduated from Byron High School in 1966.
She worked for general telephone, and was a police, fire and ambulance dispatcher for six years for the City of Durand, Mi. On Oct. 28, 1972 she married James A. Miller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand.
They moved to Manistique, Mi., where she worked for State Savings Bank and in 1975 the couple moved to Iron Mountain, Mi., where she worked for 1st National Bank. In 1980 the family moved to Marquette, Mi., where she worked for the cashiers office at Northern while taking accounting classes. The family has resided in Menominee since 1987. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and former choir member, often singing solo the Litany of the Saints. She was the bookkeeper at Menominee Catholic Central School for eight years and the payroll specialist and handled accounts receivable for Enstrom Corporation since 1999.
She served as an Honor Queen in Jobs Daughters during high school. She enjoyed her home, the UP of Michigan, the woods, Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. She enjoyed Loons and animals, music, cooking, needlework, reading, family camping trips, computer games and Maroon and Packers football. She was part of Maroon Band Boosters and valued her time with her family, friends and the people in her life.
She is survived by her husband, Jim of Menominee; a daughter, Mrs. Todd (Alison) Marshall of Jackson, Mi.; one granddaughter; a sister, Patricia Taylor of Moriarity, N.M.; her mother-in-Law, Betty Miller of Menominee; nieces and nephews; special cousin, Patricia (Gene) Roussin and family of Durand and other cousins, second cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Menominee from 4:30 p.m. until time of the prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Charles Schumacher officiating. Visitation will also be on Friday, Oct. 30 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Durand, Mi. Fr. J. Munley will officiate and burial will be in Union Plains Cemetery, Burns Township, Mi. A memorial fund has been established for Menominee Catholic Central School. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, Mi. is assisting the family.
