
Leslie Q. Peot Leslie Q. Peot, 91, of Menominee, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Menominee Care Center.
Born on Sept. 27, 1918 to the late Walter and Daisy (Cardinal) Peot in Menominee, he was a 1936 graduate of Menominee High School and went on to serve in the Army during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater and was awarded three Bronze Stars.
He was a lifelong resident of Menominee and worked for 39 years at Automotive Products, retiring in 1982. He married Pearl Fronsee on March 8, 1941 and she preceded him in death on April 17, 1995. He married Florence Engeldinger on April 6, 2006. He converted to Catholicism in 2007. He was a member of Resurrection Parish, the Menominee American Legion, Menominee V.F.W., Little River Country Club for 53 years and was a former D.A.R. Big Brother. He was an avid golfer and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; two stepchildren, John (Tracey) Engeldinger of Toronto, Canada and Mrs. Richard (Jean) Smith of Menominee; three step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Pearl, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Joseph.
Friends may call at Resurrection Parish on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Janusz Romanek officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Lemieux-Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
