
Edward Dallapiazza Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, Mi., for Edward Dallapiazza, 88, of Randville, Mi.
Visitation was held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until time of service. Cynthia Cowen L.L.M. officiated. He died Friday, Nov. 13 at the Golden Living Center in Florence.
Born Dec. 20, 1920 in Norway, Mi., he was the son of the late John Edward and Mary Catherine (Nora) Dallapiazza. He spent his childhood in Norway and East Kingsford and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1939.
He then worked for the Civil Conservation Corp and served during World War II in the United States Army from 1941 to 1946. In 1941 he married Elizabeth Catherine Feldhusen in Iron Mountain. They celebrated 61 years together and had one son.
He worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Kingsford. He later owned the Sportsmen’s Bar in Aurora and worked in construction, joining the Labor Union in 1963. He also worked for MichCon and was a deputy sheriff for the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department. He and his wife moved to Randville in 1969, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and raising animals. He was an active member of the Sagola Sportsmen’s Club and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
He is survived by a son, John (Lynn Larson) Dallapiazza of Iron Mountain; a sister, Irene Laylin and her son, Darrell, both of Pembine; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and three sisters, Beatrice Uecker, Elaine Flom and Eleanor Johnson.
