
Robert E. Fischer Robert E. Fischer, 80, of 208 Ogden St., Marinette passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15 at Bay Area Medical Center.
The son of the late William and Lucille (Maudrie) Fischer was born on Dec. 8, 1928. He married Ruth J. Malmstadt on Aug. 7, 1948 in Marinette and she preceded him in death in June of 2007, after 60 years of marriage.
He was a welder at Marinette Marine Corp. and retired in 1988. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Menekaunee Men’s Club and was a commercial fisherman for years. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Athelstane, fishing, hunting playing cards with his daughters and was an avid Cubs fan.
He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Mike (Lynda) Caylor of Wausaukee and Mrs. Ken (Kathy) Keller, Dianne Kregel, Mrs. Tim (Karla) Hanley, Mrs. Bob (Carrie) Seguin, Mrs. Bob (Mary) Eggener and Mrs. Sam (Amy) Anderson, all of Marinette; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Fischer and Herman (Lorna) Fischer of Marinette; two sisters, Jean Rizzo and Judy Uecke of Marinette and two sisters-in-law, Arlyss Bero of Menominee and Jeanne “Toots” (John) Maloney of Suamico.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James R. Kregel; a grandson, Kristopher K. Kregel; a brother, William and a sister, Dorothy.
Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Jane Mattsen will officiate and entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum.
