
Curtis Folstad Curtis Folstad, 93, a resident at W6204 18th Ave., Menominee passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Rennes Health Care-East, Peshtigo.
Born Feb. 21, 1916 to Samuel and Selma Folstad of Menominee, his parents were both immigrants from Norway.
On Dec. 5, 1942 he married the former Emily Barstow in Helens, Ark., where he was stationed in the service as an Army Air Corps pilot. Following the end of World War II, the couple resided in Menominee, where for many years they owned and operated Folstad Implement Company. He was a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church and a frequent participant at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marinette. Throughout his life he was an avid sportsman and enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, upland bird hunting, duck hunting, bicycling, cross-country skiing, canoeing, berry picking and being outdoors. He and his wife shared the produce from their large garden and orchard with many and enjoyed entertaining friends at their cottage, the Stonehouse.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Susan) Gremmer of Winneconne; a son, Larry of Menominee; one grandson; a niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily on Feb. 17, 2000 and three sisters, Sigrid Langohr, Amy Cord and Louise Looby.
Memorial services were held on Friday, Nov. 20 at Cadieu Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friends called from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Deacon Jackie Everson officiated. The 20 Year Club conducted military honors. Burial was in Cedar River Cemetery, Cedar River, Mi.
