Richard K. Demler, 75, of Menominee passed away at his home on Monday, Feb. 28.
Born on Nov. 28, 1935 in Wainfleet Township, Ontario Canada, his parents were the late Frank and Hilda (Nelson) Demler. They came to the United States in 1946 and he married the former Evelyn Stello on Jan. 11, 1975.
He worked for Giddings & Lewis for 36 years as a crane operator, retiring in January of 1998. He was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His wife, Evelyn survives, along with two sons, Richard J. Demler of Wallace, Mi. and William (Terry) Demler of Menominee; a daughter, Sue Demler of Menominee; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one stepdaughter, Caroline (Randy) Kmiecik of Menominee; one step-grandson; two step-great-granddaughters; a sister, Sadie and two brothers, George and Don, all of Canada.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 3 at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. with Rev. Warren Waddell officiating. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
