Mary Ann Gusick

Mary Ann Gusick, age 74, formerly of Crivitz, passed away early Monday morning, June 25, 2012 at Libby’s House in Plymouth where she had been a resident for 1 1/2 years.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1937 in Crivitz, WI, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Bischof Jonas. She attended Crivitz Grade School and graduated from Crivitz High School in 1955.

On October 18, 1955 she married Herb Becker in Wausaukee. The couple moved to Chicago in 1956 for several years before settling in Crivitz in 1962, where they owned and operated Becker Hardware for many years. Mary Ann worked at Coleman Furniture in Coleman, WI from 1973 to 1985. On October 28, 1985 she married Kenneth Gusick. Ken and Mary Ann owned and operated Coleman Furniture Company and Gusick’s Christmas Trees for many years. Ken preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2011. She enjoyed running the Christmas tree business, sewing, baking and gardening.

Survivors include three children, Paul (Sandy) Becker of Coleman, Cheryl (Brian) Geib of Cascade and Jeff (Renee) of Niceville, FL; four grandchildren, Jessica (Dan) Dolezal of Cascade, Amanda (Troy) Mortier of Abrams, WI, Katie Becker of Marinette and Nichols Becker of Niceville, FL; two great-grandchildren, Ty Mortier and Bryce Dolezal. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Mary Ann’s life will take place on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Jim and Cheryl Baranek’s residence, W6890 Lakeview Road, Crivitz. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to share memories and stories with the family. A memorial fund is being established in her name for Alzheimer’s Association.
