Legion Seeks Color Guard

Loomis--Practice was held for the American Legion Post 476 of Loomis for its rifle squad and color guard on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Loomis Town Hall. Seven members were present and practice went well but more members are need for the color guard.
The next practice is Wednesday, Sept. 5, regular post meeting night, at 6:30 p.m.
Members of the post and auxiliary will volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Iron Mountain, Mich., on Tuesday, Aug. 21. Volunteers are needed as visits are on the third Tuesday of each month.
New members are welcome for the post and auxiliary. Any eligible veteran is welcome and can attend the Sept. 5 meeting in the Loomis Town Hall. A potluck dinner is at 6 p.m. to celebrate the birthday of the post and to thank volunteers that helped at the July 28 event. It will be a short meeting and bingo will be played.
Elmer Mullard is post commander and Joyce Sporrer is currently collecting dues for the Auxiliary.
