Minnesota 4-H Club Members Visit Marinette Co.
Members of the Marinette County 4-H clubs had an exchange of members from Lyon County 4-H in Marshall, MN July 10th 15th.
The clubs met at Evergreen Park in Wausuakee and had Hoovers pizza and snacks and played games before going to respective families.
On Wednesday they traveled to DeYoungs Zoo in Wallace, MI and then to Daves Falls in Amberg for lunch and a waterfall tour. Their Thursday plans included floating down the Peshtigo River on inner tubes. They ended at the Behnke farm where a picnic lunch was served.
After lunch the youth went to the Hoffeller home for swimming, fishing, boating, water balloon toss, frisbe throwing, go-cart riding and more. They had a pot luck picnic and made smors at night.
On Friday it was a visit to Green Bay to the Wildlife Sanctuary and Bay Beach and Saturday was family day and some attended the Athelstane Firemens Picnic, with boating and swimming on High Falls, and others got to work at a sheep and chicken farm and do some walking in the woods. Sunday they met at the Primakow home and had donuts and juicem then took time to sign each others exchange shirts.
Visitors from Lyon County were Jach Kerkaert, Michael, Paul, Jarrett, Brent and Randy Louwagi along with chaperone Tim Lauwagi. Marinette County members were Emily and Becky French from Pike River, Nicholas Geraths of Golden Opportunity, and Krista Hilpert, Sammy and Sara Primakow, Courtney Hoffeller amd Hartley Wills of Silver Stones 4-H clubs.
Host familes were the Lee and Julie Behnke, Paul and Carol Primakow, Abe and Karen French, Brian and Noel Hoffeller, Rick and Ember Rickaby and Barb Kolosowski exchange coordinator.
