Calvin O. Bauer

Calvin (Cal) Okel Bauer, 10, of Middle Inlet passed away Sunday, Sept. 2.

Born March 21, 2002 at Green Bay Aurora Hospital, he was the son of Andrew and Irene Bauer.

Cal loved his friends and family, loved playing basketball and 3-on-3 tournaments with his friends, baseball, yard games with his family, swimming, riding motorcycles with his Papa Bauer, snowmobiling, sledding, four wheeling and playing in the giant sand piles at the farm with his brother and sister.

He was his Dad’s right-hand man. He also loved golfing and driving semi with his Dad. He was the most helpful gardener for his mom (especially if he got to drive the tiller). Calvin loved life, was always excited about a new day dawning. Calvin was a unique spirit, with facial expressions not to be forgotten. He had wittiness beyond his years, and had beautiful, big blue eyes with a smile to match their sparkle. Cal had the funniest personality and lit up any room he entered.

His parents will miss him asking to play WPFF Christian radio on his stereo before tucking him in and the prayers they prayed together every night before bed. His favorite Christian band was the Newsboys. Calvin loved Jesus so much and we know he is in Heaven with Him now. We are sure that the Lord granted him a farm of his own upon arrival and that he is doing what he loved the most!

Calvin leaves behind his father, Andrew and mother, Irene; a sister, Abby (7) and a brother, Jack Henry (6). Also, his paternal grandparents, Henry and Lynn (Okel) Bauer of Middle Inlet; maternal grandparents, Peter and Dawn (Hanson) Kertesz of Crivitz; maternal great-grandmothers, Marjorie (Fleury) Hanson and Ruth (Bednarz) Kertesz, both of Crivitz; Aunt Keri (Eric) Holder of Suamico, Aunt Amy (Andrew) Kaufman of Lena, Becky Bauer of Green Bay, Aunt Danica (Brandon) Hanson of Star Prairie, Uncle Peter (Sarah) Kertesz of Sacramento, Calif., Aunt Amara (Doug) Kertesz-Roatch of Marinette, Aunt Elissa (Justin) Behnke of Camas, Wa., Uncle Wil Kertesz of La Crosse and Aunt Jackie of Crivitz.

He also leaves behind 64 first and second cousins combined. First cousins, Aubrie, Andrew, Karra, Kinsleigh, Josiah, Brooklyn, Taya, Claire, Elle, Zane, Nia, Coleton, Sydney, Scarlette and Ethan. Also very special to Cal’s heart are second cousins, Libby and Madely, who was by his side when the Lord lifted him Home.

Calvin also leaves behind his favorite outside pal, Copper. And most importantly, Calvin leaves behind his best buddy, Christopher, who was also involved in the accident. He loved Christopher so much and wanted to do everything with him!

Calvin is also survived by six great-aunts and five great-uncles, one great-great-aunt and two great-great uncles. Calvin also has numerous other extended family across the States.

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandmother, Loretta Bauer, Great-Grandfather, Leslie Okel, Great-Grandfather, Lester Kertesz, Great-Grandfather, John (Jack) Hanson, cousin, Natalie and Great-Aunt, Cindy Wallgren.

Calvin’s dad was saying just last week what an incredible blessing he has been to him as a son and a dedicated, hard-working partner on the farm. We know Cal is in the arms of Jesus, just as we are on earth. We long for the day that we will be reunited again with our Christ families for all of eternity.
