Wausaukee Graduates 1947-60 Hold Reunion

The Wausaukee High School graduating classes of 1947-1960 held a combined reunion on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Woods Supper Club of Crivitz. Happy hour started at 3:30 p.m. followed by a sit-down dinner at 5 p.m. Entertainment was provided by the band “Phoenix” led by John Polomis of Wausaukee.

Attending from the Class of 1947 were Al Wilke (Fran) of Marinette; 1948 class members Gerald Lubinski (Virginia) of Tustin, Calif., Evaleen Christ Hutchens of Bensenville, Ill., and Betty Flom Gesme of Pewaukee.

The graduates of 1949 were May James Barnes of Athelstane and Arnold Buechler of Marinette; Janice Jensen Wieting of Athelstane, Janice Wielgus Lubinski and Betsy Gauthier Allie of DePere represented the 1950 class.

From the class of 1951 were Patricia Haley Halvorson (Donald) of Athelstane, Blanche Jacomet Swick (Kenneth) of Crivitz, Ed Lazzeroni (Stephanie) of Racine and Layton Cole (Carol) of Athelstane. Graduates of 1952 were Charles Buechler (Rose) and Glen Anderson (Marian) of Wausaukee, Harold Delfosse (Elaine) of Nashotah, Lois Huemphner Berceau of Sheboygan Falls, Norma Hanson Giese and Mickey Gerrdale of Crivitz, Marcelene Meyer Grinesteiner (Frank) of Stephenson, Mich., and Herbert Becker of Amberg.

The class of 1953 members were Evelyn Johnson Olson (Norman) of Peshtigo, John Becker (Diane) of Wausaukee and Virginia Dashut Lubinski (Gerald) of Tustin, Calif. The 1954 graduates included Clyde Phillipps, Gerald and Darlene Huemphner Wojcik of Wausaukee, Joyce Anderson Gamlin of Peshtigo, John and Glenda Cole Wheelock of Lakeville, Minn., Raymond and Doreen Reichl Sparr of Middle Inlet, Vicki Delfosse of Marinette.

Among the 1955 graduates were Virginia Lytle Walker of Green Bay, Donna Anderson Lee of Hartford, Lois Meyers Dura (Louis) of Franklin, Lois Becker Dunn, Walter and Marilyn Huemphner Wickman of Wausaukee.

From the 1956 class were Glen Gauthier (Elaine) of DePere, and Carol James Cole (Layton) of Athelstane; 1958 representatives were Gerald Meyers (Pamela) of Porterfield, George Vertz (Karen) and David Collier (Joyce) of Wausaukee, David Sparr of Schofield. Representing the 1959 graduates were John Polomis (Gayle) and Robson Barron (Lynn) of Wausaukee, Darrell Kahara (Carolyn) of Porterfield, Peter Jensen of Wabeno, and Bonney Cable Reese (Kenneth) of Silver Cliff.

All 1960 graduates attending from Wausaukee were James Meyers (Janet), Patricia Bereza Bastian (Robert), Jeff and Bonnie Huemphner Diener, Bud LaCoy and Lillian Leonard.

The reunion was chaired by Arthur Dashut, class of 1951. A resident of Wausaukee, he announced at the dinner that 2012 was his last year as chairperson and hopes someone will take it over.
