Goodman Legion Talent Show Sept. 15
Coming events in the Goodman-Armstrong Creek area are American Legion-sponsored talent show at the Goodman Clubhouse Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. However, admission is $3 with an item or items for the Goodman-Armstrong Creek food pantry.
A performer can call Walt at 715-336-2150 to inquire about the show. There is a $10 non-refundable fee. During the first show in 2011, audience members filled the hall floor. A judge's panel with audience members input determined the top three places. Cash prizes were awarded.
Also on Sept. 28, members of the Union Protestant Church in Goodman will make pasties to sell. To place an order, call Yvonne Mrozek at 715-336-2301. Last time the crew tried grinding the vegetables together. Deciding that didn't work for taste and texture, they are back to the traditional Cornwellian way. Mrozek said, "We learned our lesson."
On Oct. 20 the Union Protestant Church Ladies Aid Society hosts its annual Harvest Dinner of turkey, dressing, potatoes, vegetables, rolls, and desserts for $6. Both the Harvest dinner and pasty proceeds help pay for heat at the church during the winter.
