Jack C. Duda, Sr.

Jack C. Duda, Sr., 75, of Goodman, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Goodman on May 15, 1937; son of Frank and Celia (Chitko) Duda. Jack entered into the United States Navy serving his country honorably from 1955 to 1959.

He was united in marriage to Vinceann Pellegrino on December 21, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death, having shared 52 years of marriage together. Jack worked at the Federal Aviation Association until 1966 and he and Vinnie moved to Goodman, WI, to take over the farm. Farming with his family he installed the value of hard work. He also passed onto his family the love for outdoors. Jack was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, he was a member of the Goodman Town Board, and he was on the Marinette County Board. Jack also enjoyed many years of driving bus for the Goodman School District.

Jack is survived by his six children, Jack Duda II of Goodman, Peggy (Tim) Hawley of Appleton, Joe Duda of Seymour, Glenn Duda of Green Bay, Dr. Charles (Roxanne) Duda of Marinette and Frank Duda of Lena; eight grandchildren, Sarah Hawley, Brian (Ashlee) Hawley, Bethany Hawley, Shawn Hawley, Justin (Maria) Duda, Casey Duda, Abigail Duda and Ashley Duda; six great-grandchildren, Arianna Selig, Eva Selig, Christopher Selig, Gabriela Sanchez, Jaylee Duda and Jayden Duda; siblings, David (Marilyn) Duda, Arlean (Lee) Schauman, Carol (Carl) Bishop and Janice (Tony) Mastrogiacomo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vinnie; a son, Dennis; parents and sisters, Margaret and Sylvia Duda.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek. Interment will be in the Goodman Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the mass at church on Saturday. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #7444 and American Legion Post #325 of Armstrong Creek.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jack's name.
