Peshtigo Gals Run To Team Title At Shawano Invite; Boys Take Home 4th Place

With all 5 runners placing in the top 12, a young but talented Peshtigo girls team pursed top honors at the Shawano Invitational Saturday with 35 points.

Sophomore Anna Madsen paced the field with a first place clocking of 15:55, freshman Saige Ruleau 2nd 16:04, sophomore Sam Rauch 9th 17:23, freshman Ryleigh Klaver 11th 17:25 and sophomore Carlee Mylener 12th 17:25.

Southern Door was second in the team standings at 65 followed by Winneconne 84, Seymour 92, Appleton Xavier 110, Sturgeon Bay 145, Gladstone 183 and Marinette 203.

Top runner for Marinette was freshman Jayden Schreiner with a 13th place time of 17:27. Other Marinette times were Kathy Smith 45th 19:24, Christina Badalamenti 46th 19:34, Margaret Michaels 47th 19:36 and Rachel England 52nd 19:49.

“The girls are doing a great job of working together to improve their times and close the gap between them,” Marinette coach Jenni Campbell said.

In the boys race, Peshtigo finished fourth as Seymour was the champion at 44, Xavier 57, Winneconne 90.

Leading the Bulldogs were junior Aaron Bhatoya with a runner-up time of 16:48, freshman Tyler Nault 4th 17:21, Brad Neumann 22nd 19:46, Bryce Trimberger 32nd 20:13 and Eddie Jornlin 42nd 21:28.

The best time in the boys race was turned in by Justin Skinkis of Seymour at 16:36.

Austin Wright paced the Marines with a third place clocking of 16:49.

“A break through race for Austin...had a goal set for today and he achieved it. We’re excited to watch his times as the season progresses,” Campbell added.

Gillett Boys 2nd And

Girls Third At Invite


The Gillett boys finished second out of 3 teams in the Division 3 portion of the run. Bonduel was first at 22 followed by Gillett 40 and Brillion 58.

Gillett times were David Rosenlund 2nd 17:18, Max Zeitler 4th 18:03, Colin Weiss 8th 18:51, Jeremy Cibulka 12th 19:43 and Bryce Cibulka 14th 19:55.

Brooke Collins was 6th as the Gillett gals came up with a third place total in the 4-team event. Brillion tallied 36 points, Bonduel 40, Gillett 49 and Marion 92.

Collins ran 18:05, Cassie Baranczyk 7th 18:14, Jenna Herzog 10th 18:19, Karissa Rasmussen 12th 18:41 and Rebecca Wolfe 14th 18:45.

Peshtigo Teams Finish

2 And 4 At Bonduel Meet


Heading to the Bonduel Invitational Tuesday, the Peshtigo girls came up with a second place team finish and boys fourth.

Freedom claimed the girls event with a score of 33 followed by Peshtigo 53, Bonduel 83, Oconto Falls 112, Omro 116, Marinette 159, Marion 203 and Oconto 216.

Liz Bloy of Freedom had the best time at 15:57 with Bailey Wolf from Oconto Falls second at 16:10.09.

Anna Madsen lead Peshtigo with a 5th place time of 16:45.44, Saige Ruleau 6th 16:48.09, Ryleigh Klaver 12th 18:08, Carlee Mylener 13th 18:16 and Rebekah Sokol 17th 18:49.

Jayden Schreiner topped the Marinette girls with a 16th place clocking of 18:44, Kathy Smith 29th 19:53, Christina Badalamenti 31st 20:07, Rachel England 38th 20:33 and Courtney Hoffman 45th 21:12.

In the boys race, Freedom totaled 24, Oconto Falls 59, Bonduel 68, Peshtigo 110, Wolf River 142, Omro 143, Oconto 200 and Little Wolf 225.

Matt Vosters of Freedom was first at 16:43 with Marinette’s Austin Wright second 16:47.

Mike Friedman of Oconto Falls ran 17:14 for third place and brother Mitchell 9th at 17:53.

Peshtigo’s top runner was Aaron Bhatoya with a 6th place time of 17:17, Tyler Nault 12th 18:21, Brad Neumann 25th 20:51, Bryce Trimberger 31st 21:28 and Eddie Jornlin 37th 22:04.
