Gene E. Doyle, age 78, of Athelstane, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
He was born in Chicago on April 13, 1934, son of William and Helen (Klecka) Doyle. Gene graduated from Chicago Vocational School and started working at GW Electric in Chicago.
He was united in marriage to Kathryn Fabing on September, 22, 1956. Gene is a United States Army Veteran and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. Gene and Kathryn moved to Athelstane in 1996. He enjoyed camping in Canada and was an avid hunter. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Gene is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn; three children, Karen (Allan) Young, Mark (Helen) Doyle and Marcia (David) Prosken; two grandchildren, Kymberly (David) Brown and Shawn Young and a great-grandchild, Hannah Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Messar-Roubal Funeral Home with Pastor Lin Wittmann officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Athelstane. Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #66.
