Kathryn M. Schmechel-Montgomery
Kathryn Marie Schmechel-Montgomery, 57, of Green Bay passed away Friday, Oct. 26 at Parkview Manor after a long struggle with dementia.
Born Oct. 25, 1955 in Green Bay to Bob and Pat Schmechel, she graduated from Green Bay Preble High School in 1974.
On Dec. 14, 1985 she married Jack Montgomery. She worked in different vocations including Real Estate, business supervisor at Humana and also for R.W. Baird. She loved this time of the year dressing up for Halloween, horseback riding and her cats. She was an avid pool player and had many trophies from pool leagues and tournaments. She took her first solo flight on Jan. 25, 1995. She also played accordion at family functions and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Jack Montgomery of Green Bay; a son, Shawn Bins (Abby) of Crivitz; two grandchildren; her parents, Bob and Pat Schmechel of Oconto Falls; two sisters, Margie (Dave) Willman of Manitowoc and Theresa Busse (Brian) of Lena; a brother, Brett (Kathy) Schmechel of Morgan and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Margaret VandenHuevel and Clarence and Irene Schmechel.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Deacon Peter Gard officiating.
