THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Richard "Dick" Schaden, 61, of Little Suamico passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, Nov. 1, with his family at his side.
Born Sept. 4, 1951 in Green Bay to Leonard and Lila (Van Dornick) Schaden, he was a 1969 graduate of Pulaski High School. On Sept. 4, 1971 he married Nancy Kozloski in Little Suamico.
He was employed as a produce inspector at Super Value Stores for 27 years and CTS Trucking until the time of his illness. He enjoyed spending time with his hunting crew at their cabin in Silver Cliff. He loved the time he spent at his cottage in the Twin Bridge area and his favorite place to eat was Rene's Dining Room, where he especially enjoyed Wally's old fashions and the company of the numerous friends he made.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy; three children, Kevin Schaden of Green Bay, Melissa (Rick) Peters of Lena and Heather (Victor) Barron of Abrams; one grandson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Kozloski of Little Suamico; three brothers, Robert (Jean) Schaden of Chase, Howard (Nona) Schaden of Oconto and Dale (Lori) Schaden of Oconto Falls; a sister, Norma Peters of Suamico and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don Schaden and a brother-in-law, Tom Peters.
Friends called at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, with closing prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continued at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 at St. Benedict Church, 3370 Deerfield Ave., Suamico, with a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. presiding.
