Marilyn D. Kleikamp Marilyn D. Kleikamp, 68, of Powers, Mi. passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Dickinson Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, Mi.
The former Marilyn Kirschner was born on Nov. 14, 1944 in Escanaba, Mi. to the late Joseph and Ann (Nolde) Kirschner. On June 12, 1965 she married Joseph Cholewa in Powers, Mi. and he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1994. On Nov. 6, 1999 she married William Kleikamp in Carney, Mi.
An avid homemaker, she was known for her pies and famous homemade fudge. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed knitting and was a big Green Bay Packer fan, but spending time with her children and grandchildren is what she enjoyed most. She was a member of the Carney Evangelical Free Church.
Survivors include her husband, William; five children, Brenda (Charles) Benson of Powers, Mi., Jill (special friend, Keith) Cholewa and Jody Cholewa, both of Kentucky, Janet Cholewa of Menominee and Brian Cholewa of Bark River, Mi.; two grandchildren; three stepchildren, Larry (Lynn) Kleikamp of Daggett, Mi., Debby (Terry) Frossard of Bark River, Mi. and Randy Kleikamp of Menominee; nine step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joanne (Ron) LaBelle and Linda Lynch, both of Powers, Mi. and Carlyn (Jim) Lynch of Cedar River, Mi.; two brothers, Ken (Pam) Kirschner and Joseph (Teri) Kirschner, both of Powers, Mi. and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her first husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Kirschner.
Family and friends may call at the Carney Evangelical Free Church on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor Gary Page will officiate and burial will be in the Carney Free Church Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, Mi. is assisting the family with arrangements.
