James A. Lindenberg
James Allen Speed Lindenberg, 64, of Rockford, Ill. passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
Born on Aug. 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Allen and Sylvia (Black) Lindenberg. He married Mary Cunningham on Nov. 5, 1983 in Rockford, Ill. and worked at Chrysler for more than 35 years, until his retirement in 2001.
An avid NASCAR fan, his favorite drivers were Matt Kenseth and Travis Kvapil. He loved going to many NASCAR races, including the Daytona 500 every year and was also a Bears and White Sox fan. He was always willing to give a helping hand to everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Carrie (Shane Troyer) Lindenberg and Kevin Lindenberg; a sister, Mary (Ross) Prior; two brothers, Steve (Carol) Lindenberg and Greg (Kathy) Lindenberg and nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home-Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Ill., on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date for Brain Cancer Research.
