Coleman Moves To 4-0 Notching a pair of M-O Conference wins, defending champion Coleman remains the only unbeaten team in the 9-team circuit with a 4-0 readout.
Coach Jeff Bronsons hardwood cagers struggled before disposing of Gillett Thursday 42-25, then bounced back with an impressive 85-22 rout of Niagara Tuesday.
Sitting in top spot, the Cougars own a half game lead over a pair of second place teams in Peshtigo and Suring. The Bulldogs moved to 4-1 with lopsided wins over Wausaukee 69-16 and STAA 69-28 while Suring fell to Lena 48-39 before getting back on track with a 51-34 win over Crivitz.
Fourth place Lena sports a 3-1 mark while Niagara sits at 3-2 in the league standings.
Coleman will face a pair of key games this week, traveling to Peshtigo Friday night for a 7:15pm clash before entertaining Lena on Tuesday, December 18.

Coleman Sneaks
Past Gillett 42-25
It wasnt pretty but the Cougars picked up a road win besting Gillett 42-25 Thursday.
The score is a little misleading, said Coleman head coach Jeff Bronson. Each team made the other work. Normal scoring was at a premium.
True, the stats for this one dont look quite right for Coleman and that speaks loudly as to the effort brought forth by Gillett. Hope Process, three points, Abby Bieber six points on a two-for-five shooting night and Sammy Schaal zero points.
A closer look though, tells the story of a nicely balanced game for the Cougars, one that made them work hard and use some of their strengths that might go overlooked on other nights.
Schaal, for example, might not be used to going scoreless in a game but her three steals and four assists didnt hurt the cause.
Biebers final numbers say the same thing as she turned in five steals to lead all players in that category.
And any scoring punch that Coleman was missing from its usual playmakers was made up for by big individual performances from both Makenzie Sadowski and Lindsey Kerr.
Sadowski went six-for-17 from the field on her way to a game-high 16 points, four assists, 12 boards, two steals and a block.
Kerr put up 12 points for Coleman while notching two steals, two blocks, three assists and four rebounds.
Defensively, we are getting better slowly, said Bronson. The rotations are still not where they need to be but the team is definitely closer than we were a week ago. With the effort the team has shown, the improvement will continue. But this was a good game for us. A road win versus Gillett is never easy.
Kelsey Hischke turned in six points, four boards and two steals to lead the Tigers while teammate Kara Brennan had five boards, four points and a steal.
Wildcats Ground Eagles
The Lena Wildcats got a game-high 14 points from Marlena Wagner on their way to a 48-39 win over Suring.
Emily Ellman accounted for both of the Wildcats three pointers on the evening as she finished with nine. Teammate Holly Blazek also tallied nine while Melissa Bushmaker chipped in six.
Calley VanBellinger paced Suring in defeat with her 12 points but teammate Mackenzi LaMarre wasnt far behind with 10, including two three pointers of her own. Erin Fischer rounded out the Eagles top scorers with nine.
The Eagles fell despite jumping out to a 13-8 start in the first quarter. Lena enjoyed a 16 of 30 free throw performance while Suring managed just four of 18.
Bulldogs Blow Out
Wausaukee 69-16
To say that the latest M-O installment of Peshtigo versus Wausaukee was a lopsided affair would no doubt qualify as quite the understatement.
Two, six, one, seven. Those were Wausaukees point totals for four quarters of play as the Bulldogs came to town and absolutely hammered the Lady Rangers 69-16.
While Wausaukee struggled to find any offense at all, Peshtigo seemed to have it coming in droves. As the Bulldogs defense baffled the Lady Rangers into a sub-10 point total for the first half of play, the Peshtigo netters steamed ahead to 39 in the first half of play. Brittany Marquardt shelled out a trio of three pointers on her way to a game-high 13 points, Amanda Majewski added 10, Shannen Ganter nine and Carly Dietrich eight.
For Wausaukee in the loss, Lauren Edlbeck led the way with five points while both Crysta Clark and Sara Wickman added four.
The Bulldogs also won the JV game by a final of 34-25.
Wolosyn, Badgers
Wallop Cavalettes
The Cavalettes traveled to Niagara and said hello for the first time to Badgers freshman guard Brooklyn Wolosyn. It was an introduction theyd just as soon forget as the Badgers, led by 23 points from Wolosyn, battered the Cavalettes 59-32.
The games first quarter tells a different story though. The STAA cagers stayed right with the home team on both ends of the floor to close out the frame with the scoreboard even at 11 apiece. Also noteworthy was the fact that Wolosyn scored no points in the first.
But things changed pretty dramatically in the second as Wolosyn racked up 10 points as the Badgers outscored the Cavalettes 21-9 and started to put the game out of reach.
Backing up Wolosyn, who turned in all four of her teams three pointers in the game, with a big scoring night of her own was Melinda MacDonald with 15 points, including seven in that pivotal second quarter.
The Badgers shot 33% (22-67) from the field compared to 25% (13-52) for STAA and owned a 38-30 edge on the boards.
Lilly Duffrin scored 10 points to lead STAAs offense while Riley Schultz had nine and Taylor Wilson contributed eight.
Bulldogs Slam STAA
Peshtigo got a game-high 16 points from Shannen Ganter, 11 from Nicole Motkowski and another 10 from Claire Stuart as it picked up its second blowout win in a week, 69-28 over the visiting STAA Cavalettes.
Lilly Duffrin led the way fro STAA with her 10 points while teammate Riley Schultz chipped in eight.
Kerr And Sadowski Send
Cougars Past Badgers
The Cougars had some players turn in big numbers in their runaway win over Niagara, 85-22 on Tuesday.
Lindsey Kerr led all scorers with 23 points, including one from beyond the arc; Makenzie Sadowski added 20; Hope Process 10 while both Raena Chucka and Ashley Teteak each scored eight.
Not only was the Coleman offense firing on all cylinders, its defense managed to hold Niagara to under 10 points scored in each of the games four quarters and high scoring Brooklyn Wolosyn, who has been tearing up defenses in the M-O so far this season, to just eight points.
Suring Takes Care
Of Wolverines 51-34
The Wolverines got an impressive 18 points from Brittany Gorman along with eight from Star Batten but ended up losing a road game to Suring 51-34.
The Eagles were paced by Kelsey Schools 20 while teammate Erin Fisher added 18.
Suring opened the game with effective defense as it held Crivitzs offense to just one point in the games opening quarter.
Lena Levels Wausaukee
Both teams got off to a fairly slow start as Lena went into the locker room at the halftime break leading Wausaukee by a slim 14-12 margin.
But the Lady Rangers couldnt find their game to start the third quarter and managed just two points in the second half of play as Lena ran away with it by a final score of 41-14.
Wausaukee simply didnt do enough to put itself in a position to win, shooting just 18% (6-33) from the field in the game.
Lena was paced by Marlena Wagners 11 points to lead all scorers while also getting eight from Christina Jagiello and seven from Melissa Bushmaker.
Wausaukee was led by four each from Kaylor DeLaet and Krista Hilpert.
Wausaukee won the jayvee contest 36-30.
