Gerhard H. Kiesling
Gerhard Gerry Herman Kiesling, 69, of Coleman passed away peacefully at home Friday, Dec. 21 after a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 15, 1943 in Milch Germany to the late Herman and Augusta (Stienke) Kiesling, in 1952 at age eight, he arrived in the United States with his family and eventually settled in Suring.
He worked at Coleman Products Corporation, Coleman, for 18 years until the plant closed, then at Great Lakes Trailers in Suring, retiring in 2004 due to his illness. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially his flower garden, watching the Packers and bragging about his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Becky; children Teri Kiesling of Green Bay, Todd Kiesling and friend Jill of Shawano, Renee (Jason) Zeitler of Pound, Julie (Tim) Boerschinger of Coleman, also Jeff Smet and friend Amy of Gillett; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother, Helmut (Connie) Kiesling of Lily; two sisters, Johanna (John) Hagen of Nebraska and Alfreda Minnor of California; four sisters-in-law, Matilda Kiesling, Barbara Kiesling, Jean Levash and Janet (Dave) Terp and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Harold and Ione Levash; three brothers, Edmund, Heinz and Horst; three sisters, Ida, Adele and infant sister, Helga and several brothers-in-law.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman. Memorial services will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Elaine Thomas officiating.
