Lawrence J. Rector
Lawrence J. Rector, 60, Brillion resident, died Saturday, Dec. 15 at a Green Bay hospital after a courageous battle following heart surgery.
Born April 17, 1952 in Norfolk, Va. to Carol Buffington and the late Harry Rector, he attended Marinette Catholic Central High School graduating in 1970.
He married the former Suzanne Klarner on June 1, 1973 at St. Jude Catholic Church. He was employed at Brillion Iron Works for almost 40 years. His passion for football led him to a 25 year coaching career for the 7th grade Brillion Chargers. He was extremely proud of his family and treasured time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Suzie; three children, Tanya (Chris) Host of Sobieski, Scott Rector of Brillion and Jill Rector of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; his mother, Carol Buffington of Green Bay; his in-laws, Bonnie (Lee) Wertel of Green Bay and Jim Klarner of Fort Myers, Fla., Julie Klarner of Green Bay, Todd (Beth) Klarner of Mooresville, N.C., Tom (Snip) Klarner of Pittsfield and Lisa (Jeff) Macco of Green Bay; nieces and nephews and special aunt and uncle, Bill (Peggy) Buffington of Brillion.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerome and Carol Klarner and nieces, Rebecca Campbell and Dawn Travis.
Per his request, a private family service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home with his wifes cousin, Abbot Gary Neville, O'Praem, officiating.
