From our readers

Letter to Editor:

My husband and I went shopping to Marinette for the after Christmas sales. I wanted to buy Christmas cards and went to a popular store. Looking for quite a while, I discovered the religious Christmas cards were shoved way in a corner. The secular cards were all gone.

Perhaps this shows where all the violence is coming from, when religion is shoved in a corner.

Lonnie Pillath

Dear Editor:

Recently, we read in the paper of Dale Berman’s resignation from several city committees, reportedly for health reasons. In 1997, we visited then-Mayor Dale Berman. As owners of Murphy Development, Inc., we were considering developing a 104-unit apartment project in Peshtigo. The enthusiasm and support of Mayor Berman was contagious. We proceeded with the development of the Peshtigo Estates project; and continue to own and manage it to this day.

Because Mayor Krizenesky and everyone associated with City Hall have followed Mayor Berman’s example, we’ve continued to invest in Peshtigo with the 80-unit development of Oak Estates.

We are proud to be associated with a City where leadership has been so supportive of quality and affordable rental housing. And we are particularly grateful for the initial welcome we received from Mayor Berman. Best Wishes and our lasting respect to him.

Patrick and Ann Murphy, Owners,

Murphy Development, Inc.,

Green Bay

To the Editor:

About a year ago I set up a meeting with the principal and staff of Peshtigo Middle/High School, which my child attends, with a curriculum and educational video set on The Constitution by the National Center for Constitutional Studies (NCCS). Do you know what they told me at the second meeting, after they reviewed the material, with the principal and four teachers?

They told me that the history of America is too religious (Christian) and therefore they cannot teach the principles or foundation of The Declaration of Independence or its dovetail document of our laws, beyond what the have. They said they would likely be sued. They told me that they are under the regulations of The State of Wisconsin so I contacted John Nygren (State Assemblyman for the 89th) and he assured me this was not so. He stated that it is, and should be, a local matter.

Having researched American history and our founding documents and their supporting documents, such as the Federalist Papers, etc..., over the last seven years, I have asked our High School Students questions about the meaning and purpose of the 18 enumerated powers clauses (Article I Section 8) pursuant to the 9th and 10th Amendments, as well as the money clauses of Article I Sections 8 (clause 5) and 10 (clause 1), pursuant to the supremacy clause or even asking them what the primary purpose of the Second Amendment is for; and as we all know, according to the documents and letters of our founding fathers, it isn 't hunting or even personal protection, as these are only minimal side benefits, they have no idea. And, what really scares me, for the sake of our Republic and their futures, they don 't really care. ??? What kind of education are they getting?

Our High School students don 't even know that the Federal Government has over $16 Trillion in "public debt." They don 't even know, perspectively, what a Trillion Dollars is. Add to that "public debt" $121,000,000,000,000 in UNFUNDED Liabilities which are increasing at the rate of over ONE TRILLION DOLLARS per month. And, this is the kicker, they have NO IDEA that our elected and non-elected Federal public servants are going to expect them pay for it. They don 't even know that just to pay for the UNFUNDED liabilities alone, the Federal government will have to increase withholding taxes to over 80% of their Middle Class Taxpayer gross wages. They don 't know or understand that this and the concern for hyperinflation was the very reason for the eighteen enumerated powers, size, scope and spending and the money clauses that WE THE PEOPLE placed in our laws on our elected representatives. They really need and have the Right to see this following link so they know why these things are the most important thing they can learn for their future: http://youtu.be/WFP-2_iDYMU

They don 't know that we have a "Republican form" of government, to ensure against the "Mob Rule" of a Democracy, as guaranteed to our free and sovereign States under Article IV, Section 4. They think we have a Democracy and they don 't see anything wrong with that? They don 't know that Democracies, which is the purest form of Socialism and/or Communism, is where 50% plus one, votes to steal the individual Rights, Liberty and property of and manipulate and control the balance, for themselves, through government. And, they don 't thus know that Democracies throughout World history have murdered over one hundred million innocent men, women and children, whole families, in cold blood.

They don 't know that wages are not "income." They don 't realize that wages and salaries are the equal exchange of personally owned property between two or more parties; I exchange my personal time, education that I paid for, knowledge, abilities and skills for an equal exchange of personal property from the business owner. Do they know that education is not one of the powers, size, scope or spending that WE THE PEOPLE granted the Federal Government, in accord with the 10th Amendment? And, do they know why? Well that answer can be readily witnessed in massively expensive "public education" across the country today, in comparison from when America "used to be" number one in the World before the Federal Government commenced in utter contempt for OUR constitutional laws on them.

They don 't even know that according to the Preamble of The Constitution "WE THE PEOPLE... ordain and establish" our laws on our elected Republican and Democrat public servants to "secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" and to protect ourselves and our families, our individual Rights and our property (wages), from our Government and from becoming a Democracy.

I 'm planning on taking it to the school board at a public meeting on January 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Elementary School Cafeteria. Would anybody like to join me?

Editor:

I wrote this poem after receiving help with a flat tire:

********

'Twas two days before Christmas, on our way home from

church,

When a nail left our tire flat and us in a lurch.

The wrench was brought out to loosen the nuts,

The only thing to do, no ifs, ands or buts.

A jack was brought out to boost up the car,

Working to get things back up to par;

When what to our wondering eyes should appear,

A Good Samaritan showed up to volunteer.

Lending a hand on the snow covered road,

The stranger so willing to help lighten our load.

To give aid to another now seems a lost art,

But we watched, as he helped, with a thankful heart

Wouldn 't take a dime for the help that he gave,

And leaving he raised his hand in a wave.

With a handshake and a word so kind and true,

We both exchanged greetings of Merry Christmas to you!

These days help from a stranger is rare;

People too afraid to show that they care.

Surprisingly, this man named Dan -

Is son of good friend - Bob Bastian!
