Ellen M. Gorman, 87, of Menominee passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Born on Feb. 27, 1925 to the late Joseph and Ethel May (Faulkner) Nelson in Thompson, Mi, she graduated from Manistique High School in 1942.
She married Carl Lindstom in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a nurse at Bay Area Medical Center for 41 years, retiring in 1986 and married David Gorman in 1989. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of Resurrection Parish and enjoyed reading, baking and sewing. Her most cherished moments came while helping and loving her precious family.
She is survived by her very special friend, Arthur Bourdlais of Menominee; a daughter, Mary (Al) Czerniewski of Crivitz; two stepdaughters, Beth (Bill) Clegg of New London and Helen (Paul) Mastalier of Shawano; a stepson, Dan (Linda) Gorman of Manawa; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Callen. She is further survived by two sisters, Lydia Hulla of Manistique, Mi. and Victoria (John) Oldaker of Westland, Mi. and nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and David.
Visitation will be held at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 4 p.m. until time of prayers at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, 2607-18th Street, Menominee. Friends may gather at the church just prior to the Mass. Fr. Mark McQuesten will preside.
