Edward J. Shaver
Edward Ob J. Shaver, 91, of Menominee passed away on Sunday Jan. 20 at the VA Medical Center in Tomah, where he was a resident for many years.
Born on Oct. 23, 1921 to the late Ross and Vinnie (Ihde) Shaver in Menominee, he graduated from Menominee High School and went on to serve four years in the United States Marines during World War II.
On March 6, 1948 he married Ann Kusnierz at Sacred Heart Church. He had worked for many years at Shaver Motor Co. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church and enjoyed deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann; a son, James (Sally) Shaver of Marquette; a daughter, Sharon (Everson) (Jim) Salfai of Menominee; a brother, Wes (Alice) Shaver of Menominee; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Jan. 24 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 6 p.m. with Chaplain Darrel Diers officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. A Memorial Fund has been established.
