Loretta M. Schmidt
Lori (Loretta) Mae Schmidt, 63, of Green Bay died Thursday, Jan. 24 after a short illness.
Born Nov. 26, 1949 in Green Bay to Stanley, sr. and Mary (Konopka) Stock, she married Brad Schmidt on Feb. 4, 1972.
She graduated Cum Laude with a 3.97 GPA from both West High School and UW-Green Bay. She began her teaching career with Bay Port High School as a math instructor, math department chair and Math Club advisor. She started the Computer Science Program in the late 1970s and early 1980s, then worked for the Howard-Suamico School District from 1973 to 2000. She enjoyed playing on the computer, raising raccoons, campfires and riding her golf cart at the lake. She most enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Brad; her father and stepmother, Stanley and Gwen; a brother, Butch (Diane) Stock; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Sandy) Schmidt and Ritchie (Sissy) Schmidt; a sister-in-law, Glenda (Gary) Daul; nieces, nephews, extended family and special friend, Tim Nachtwey.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary.
Friends called at Blaney Funeral Home, Green Bay from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Friends also called at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum, Green Bay from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Entombment was in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Hospital in her name.
