Lucille J. Uphill
Lucille J. (Long) Uphill, 87, of Crivitz died Monday, Jan. 28.
Born July 15, 1925 to Anton and Denia (VerHaagh) Vanden Langenberg, she married Robert Uphill on Feb. 19, 1944 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1977. She later married Lloyd Long on May 11, 1990.
She worked at the Green Bay Press-Gazette in the circulation department and was past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. One of the founding families of the Twin Bridge Ski Team, she enjoyed watching her daughters and grandchildren perform with the ski team. She also enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fly fishing, bowling, snowmobiling, Friday nights at Renes and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at Popps Trailer Park.
Her husband Lloyd survives, along with two children, Sandy (Ken) Thomas and Pat (Bill) Jacobson; six grandchildren and a brother, Marvin (Martha) Vanden Langenberg. She is further survived by three stepdaughters, a stepson and many step-grand and great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, Green Bay from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Further visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., Green Bay on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Ryan Krueger will officiate and burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimers Association in her name.
