5 Arrested On Drug Charges

Cash bond of $250,000 each for four of five persons arrested Jan. 29 on drug charges was set Thursday, Jan. 31, by Marinette County Circuit Court Judge James Morrison. Cash bond for the fifth person is $100,000. All five will have an adjourned initial appearance at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Arrested as the result of a joint investigation by local and state authorities were two males and three females including a mother and daughter. The investigation included tailing vehicles from Marinette to Chicago, Ill., and back before arrests were made.

Charged with possession with intent to deliver between 10 and 50 grams of heroin were:

Eric Edward Ebbole, 41, 1912 12th Ave., Menominee, Mich.

Shawn Allen Klatt, 32, 1103 17th Ave., Menominee, Mich.

Mindy Sue Ott, 49, 107 10th Ave. #34, Menominee, Mich., and her daughter, Amie Marie IsFalt, 32, 1828 Carney Ave., Marinette .

Hannah Marie Miatech, 21, 808 5th St., Menominee, Mich. whose cash bond was set at $100,000.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 28 City of Marinette Police Department Investigator Jon LaCombe along with agents from the Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations and law enforcement officers from the counties of Marinette and Menominee, Mich., were doing surveillance on known drug residences.

One residence was that of Eric Ebbole at 1018 16th Ave., Menominee who recently began operating a tattoo shop. The residence was also the investigation of an overdose death by Menominee Police that happened within the past two months.

About 5:19 p.m. a red colored PT Cruiser, belonging to Amie Marie Isfalt, pulled up to another nearby residence where several persons entered. The vehicle then drove to the Ebbole residence where a male walked out and got into the back seat. The vehicle then went to another residence where several persons exited and got into the vehicle, according to the complaint.

The vehicle then traveled to a gas station on U.S. 41 just outside of the city limits of Marinette and headed south on U.S. 41 followed by authorities. In Racine, the vehicle stopped again for gas and then traveled to the southside of Chicago.

Authorities then set up surveillance on U.S. 41 northbound. At about 3:36 a.m. the PT Cruiser entered Marinette County and stopped for gas at Eagle Express and one subject got out and entered a black Ford pickup truck. Both vehicles then were northbound on U.S. 41. Near Flame Road, in the Town of Peshtigo, authorities stopped the pickup truck and the PT Cruiser was stopped in the City of Marinette on U.S. 41.

According to the complaint, in the pickup truck were Amie Isfalt, driver and Mindy Sue Ott in the front seat and Ebbole in the back passenger seat. Ott reported the trio were returning from Chicago where she had visiited a friend. Under questioning, Ott admitted she would get some heroin for driving them to Chicago. Also, on her person she had some heroin which was not hers and belonged to Ebbole. Ott also reported Klatt and Miatech were in the PT Cruiser and that Miatech also had heroin on her person.

The PT Cruiser had been stopped by Marinette Police officers Craig Kopat and Sgt. Todd Schoen. The occupants were Klatt and Miatech. According to the complaint, Miatech reported she and Klatt were returing from Green Bay after shopping and had not gone to Chicago. Miatech was then transported to the county jail where she provided a package of heroin from her body.

Department of Justice Special Agent Jeremiah Winscher reported he is assigned to narcotics investigations. He estimated the amount of heroin recovered at 40.72 grams with a street value in the Marinette and Menominee area of between $12,000 and $20,000.

According to the complaint, Miatech admitted in an interview that purpose of the trip to Chicago, was to obtain heroin. Also she, Klatt, Ebbole and Ott were the ones who made the trip to Chicago. Klatt had $400, Ebbole $700 and Ott had $100 for her daughter, Amie Isfalt. In Chicago, they met a person name Brian who provided the heroin.

In an interview, Isfalt told authoritie she gave her mother, Ott $130 and use of the PT Cruiser and both use heroin together.

According to the complaint, Ott was convicted Oct. 31, 2001 in 95 A District Court of Menominee for possession of a marijuana. Also Ebbole was convicted July 11, 2011 of delivery and manfacture of marijuana in 41st Circuit Court, Menominee. Klatt was convicted Feb. 10, 1999 for possession of marijuana in District Court, Menominee and also convicted Dcc. 5, 2003 for possession of a controlled substance in Menominee Circuit Court.
