On behalf of the Board of Directors of Respite Care of Marinette and Menominee Counties, we would like to say thank you to all the vendors for their wonderful selections of chocolate specialties, all the businesses who donated, all the volunteers for all their help, Riverside Golf Club for the venue, and all the patrons who braved the weather to come and join us at the All Things Chocolate fundraiser.
Letter to Editor:
The response of the readers to the recent article on me has been tremendous. Since I dont get out like I used to, its nice to have the extra contact. From the article, the community will also be helped. It is wonderful to know that at my age I can be of help to others. Thank you for that chance.
Barbara (Meyer) Johnston
Resident of Marinette County:
Im writing this letter of recommendation for my friend, Jim Morrison, who is a candidate for Circuit Court Judge in Marinette County. Ive known Jim and his wife, Barb, for 37 years and his children since they have been born. I believe you can tell many things about a man by the way he treats his wife and his children. Jim and Barb have been married for 41 years, have three successful and nice children, and have been very successful managing the family business while being involved and attentive parents.
I have worked professionally with Jim for 37 years as well. Hes competent, trustworthy, ethical and compassionate. Ive taken several hundred of my clients to him over this period of time and Ive always found him to be knowledgeable and helpful in getting their important work done.
Finally, Jim is a man of faith. This is a very important attribute for a person we ask to be our Circuit Court Judge. We will ask him to carry out the laws of the land with justice and courage. I believe Jim possesses the wisdom to carry out the duties of this important position in our society.
I will be voting for Jim Morrison and Im confident that he will perform the duties of this very important office ethically and with good judgment.
Stephen K. Diemer,
What Is Love?
Love may be to everyone, a very different thing.
To a child it may be a hug, a kiss, a pet or a plaything.
To adults, love may mean our family and friends.
For our mate and our children, true love never ends.
To the elderly person, a friendly hello and a smile,
A little gift of remembering, may make it all worthwhile.
To those in need, the smallest thing,
Given by you, may make their heart sing.
To those who are lost and steeped in sin,
Your prayers, and tears, are what show love to them.
To those who serve in the Red, White and Blue,
Love means leaving our Country, to protect me and you.
To missionaries, love means leaving all,
To accept possible danger, to answer Gods call.
Love is like a circle, it truly has no end.
It should be shared by everyone, not only just by friends.
Yet, Perfect Love well never know,
Until weve crossed the golden shore,
And face the only Perfect One.
Who because of His True Love sent His Son.
Now that is perfect love, dont you agree?
When one who is perfect, accepts one like me?
So, lets practice true love, each and every day.
It doesnt have to be in a costly way.
A smile, a prayer, a witness, and a friendly hello,
Is all God expects from us here below.
Happy Valentines Day,
