Peshtigo Girls Softball Seeks Donations, Sets Registration DatesIssue Date: February 14, 2013
Peshtigo is proud to announce the organization of Peshtigo Girls Softball, which will work with the City of Peshtigo 's Park and Rec and the Peshtigo Bulldog Booster Club to provide a program where the student athletes can play and enjoy the game of softball.
The mission statement reads: The mission of the Peshtigo Girls Softball program is to instill in the youth of Peshtigo; softball knowledge, physical conditioning, sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, fairness, loyalty, courage, tolerance and respect for authority. To achieve this, Peshtigo Girls Softball will provide a fun, safe and supervised educational summer softball program that emphasizes individual growth, skill development, teamwork and help foster a love of the game that can be a source of lifetime enjoyment.
The girls will be able to call the old Little League field home and will play inter-league with Marinette and Menominee as they have in the past. There will be tournament teams that will travel throughout the state to represent Peshtigo Girls Softball.
This is a great undertaking as the group is starting from ground level. Support is needed to purchase equipment, uniforms, insurance, concession items as well as doing maintenance at the field. No Peshtigo child will be turned away for any reason.
There are three levels of sponsorship:
Base Hit - Minimum of $100 donation, all sponsors names will be placed on a board at the concession stand;
The Double - Minimum of $250 donation, all sponsors names at the concession stand plus names on the softball players shirts;
Home Run - Minimum of $500 donation, all sponsors names at the concession stand, names on players shirts, plus a 4x4 banner on the fence.
Registration will be held in the PELC cafeteria on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Registration is $35 per girl plus selling candy bars.
