THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Rosemary Mathias, 68, of Marinette passed away on Monday, Feb. 25 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
Born March 10, 1944 to the late Robert and Ellen (Hendrickson) Fort in Marinette, she married Michael Mathias there on June 16, 1962.
She was a homemaker her whole life and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1887 in Menominee for 40 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Renee (Jeff) Jones of Lowell, Mi. and Robin Mathias of Marinette; two sons, Mark Mathias of Gladstone, Mi. and Matthew (Barbara) Mathias of Centralia, Ill.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Janice Smith and Gloria (John) Lemire; two brothers, Bill (Pearl) Fort and Roger (Mary) Fort and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a very dear friend, Patty Perlot.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Mathias; three sisters Joan, Barb and Judy and a brother, David.
Family and friends may call at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 4 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Darrel Diers officiating. The VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service follows at 5:45 p.m.
