From our readers Letter to the Editor:
We are writing to state that Allen Brey would make a wonderful choice for judge. We have known Allen both personally and professionally for over 18 years.
Allen has been an active member of our church and has always been hard working, fair, honest and passionate about his job. He has been active in our community, living and working in Marinette since becoming our assistant district attorney. As our District Attorney, Allen has proven to be a fair but aggressive prosecutor, yet remains a humble public servant. He has proven himself very capable and worthy of serving as our next judge!

Editor:
We are writing in support of Allen Brey for judge. We have known Allen and his family for almost 20 years. They moved here from central Wisconsin where Allen was already working in the district attorneys office.
He has been putting criminals in jail for 25 years. His work ethic is above reproach. Many times over the years when going by the courthouse you will see Als car there on evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. It is more than a 40 hr. job to Al. It is about justice, integrity and the victims of crime.
On a personal note, I have coached youth baseball with Al and hes one of those people that is always the same. He is calm, even-tempered and has a good sense of humor. He is not there for the title, position or money. He is there for the protection and safety of the citizens of Marinette County. It is about service to others. Allen lives the Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis - Always Faithful.

Letter to Editor:
Re: Allen Brey is the Best Qualified for the Job
I retired in 2011 after serving 30+ years In Law Enforcement, including 27 years in Marinette County. I have worked with Allen Brey for almost 20 years. Allen Brey was requested to come to Marinette County to serve as an Assistant District Attorney because of his reputation as a no-nonsense prosecutor serving in another county. Allen has served the people of Marinette County well since his arrival. His hard work, experience, and dedication eventually lead to his successful campaign as Marinette County District Attorney. This was also accomplished because Allen had earned the trust of the citizens of this county.
As District Attorney, Allen brought in other top-notch attorneys to serve on his staff, who still remain to help carry out the mission. Allen did not want to see a drop in service to our citizens.
As Court Officer, I had the pleasure of working with Allen on many cases through the years. Allen possesses a great ability to be tough on offenders that really deserve it through his knowledge of the law, and meticulous case preparation. In addition, Allen has a knack for knowing who has made a mistake, or who would be deserving of a break or rehabilitation.
Allen has rewarded the citizens of Marinette County with outstanding service and dedication. I think its time we reward him by allowing him to take the next step in the judicial system as Circuit Court Judge. He will take those outstanding qualities with him to the bench, while still leaving the District Attorneys office in excellent hands.
Sincerely,
Mike Kitt,
Marinette
Editor:
A Vote for Allen Brey is a Vote for Marinette County
As a Law Enforcement Officer, I have come to know Allen Brey through his work in the District Attorneys Office. Over the years of working with Allen, he has always proven to be an honorable and trustworthy cornerstone of our criminal justice system. Allen takes into consideration all aspects of each situation and always considers what would best serve the citizens of Marinette County.
Allen can do this as he has not only worked for our county, but he has also lived in our community for the last 20 years. This is important to me and should also be to you. Just as a jury of your peers is selected from your fellow citizens, should not your Judge? Although James Morrison has worked in our community out of his office in Marinette, he has resided the majority of his time in Michigan.
According to LawyerCentral.Com the practice areas of James Morrison are as follows: Business Law, Employment Law, Estate Planning, Family Law, Insurance, Labor Law, Nursing Home Abuse, Real Estate, Sexual Harassment and Trusts and Estates. What is missing? Missing from that list is a vast working knowledge of Criminal Law, which above all as a judge can most affect the citizens of Marinette County. Allen Brey has the knowledge needed to successfully be your Marinette County Circuit Court Judge.
A Vote for Brey is a Vote for Marinette County. Vote Allen Brey for Marinette County Circuit Court Judge on April 2nd. Hes earned our trust.

Marinette County Resident
To the Editor:
I am writing this in response to all the articles that has been published in the papers lately about the drug problem in our area. You are all missing the big picture!
You can set up all the drug task force units and bring in all the extra law enforcement agencies you want and you will not stop the flow of drugs into our community. Bob Majewski, Jerry Suave, John LaCombe, Judge Miron, Judge Morrison, Allen Brey, etc. can bring about all the drug busts, full jail and heavy prison sentences they want, and in actuality all theyre doing is spending taxpayers money.
Its all about supply and demand. For every drug dealer you put behind bars, two more fill his spot. You need to stop the demand (drug addiction) and then you wont have need for the supply (drug dealers). And trust me, there is a huge difference between drug addicts and drug dealers.
Drug addiction is a disease and needs to be treated as such. You dont treat addiction by locking up the addict and forgetting about them just like you dont lock up cancer patients and hope they come out cured. We, yes, I am an addict, need treatment, education and rehabilitation, which we cannot get locked up.
We need a treatment/rehab facility in our community, not a bigger jail.
As Bob Majewski stated in a past article, Build it, they will come. Well, trust me, build a treatment/rehab facility and they will come.
The majority of the arrests that are made are drug addicts and they are labeled drug dealers, and that couldnt be more wrong. These men and women, boys and girls are born and raised right here in the community and are used by big city drug dealers to deliver their product in exchange for drugs to support our addictions.
The individuals from Milwaukee and Chicago that get arrested here are the drug dealers and do not use drugs. They are here to sell their poisons for a specific price and to make money off our addictions. If there is no need for it, then they will not travel here to deliver it. With no demand, there will no no supply! Do not lock up your sons and daughters and throw away the key. Instead, help us help ourselves. Please.

To the Editor:
I am writing to support and encourage support for Allen Brey, who is running for circuit court judge in the upcoming election.
I have known Allen Brey for over 20 years and have worked closely with him in that time span. As a law enforcement officer of over 23 years, most of that time spent working in Marinette County, Allen Brey has always shown the utmost respect and concern for the laws of the great state of Wisconsin. When I was first assigned to Marinette County, Allen was Assistant District Attorney and welcomed me and explained he was always available to help when needed. He has never let me down. I know that many officers in Marinette County feel exactly the same way.
Allen has always put fairness and justice together and approaches each case with an open mind and a very real concern for the safety and welfare of the public combined with a fair but forceful enforcement of the law.
Allen has worked as a District Attorney not only in Marinette County but also Wood and Taylor Counties. I believe we can feel fortunate that he decided to settle here and apply his skills in the betterment of the residents of Marinette County. He has vast experience in all areas of criminal law and is very knowledgeable in other areas of law. I feel this makes him a perfect and natural candidate for Circuit Court Judge in Marinette County.
If you are like me and believe experience, fairness, dedication and past performance are determining factors in who to vote for, then Allen Brey is the best choice.
Both my wife Char and I support Allen Brey in the upcoming election for Marinette County Circuit Judge. Please join us with your support and keep this beautiful area a great place to live.
Respectfully,
Bruce and Char Conover
Dear Editor:
Re: Judge Morrison – The Experience Question
Letters to you have suggested that Marinette County Circuit Court Judge James Morrisons criminal judicial experience might be inadequate. Please bear in mind that his opponent has no judicial experience.
In Morrisons year plus on the bench he has heard and sentenced in more than 50 felony cases. His sentences have been as strict, and in many cases stricter, than the District Attorneys office has requested in all but two cases. Additionally he has heard and sentenced on many more misdemeanors, as virtually every day he handles both felony and misdemeanor cases.
Morrison is a good man with extensive legal experience plus a deep seated and proven commitment to all of the people of Marinette County. Lets keep him as our Judge!
Respectfully,
Phil Eisenach

Times Editor:
Voters, you have a serious decision to make April 2. Allen Brey is a personal friend and we can personally testify to the countless hours he dedicates to his job that is far beyond what he is paid for. Additionally, he is well known for saying, I will not bring a case to close until I feel the truth is being told. If I feel someone is withholding or lying I will continue until I feel the wrong is right.
He is extremely strong in fairness, truth and honesty with all persons involved. He works with youth, he works with adults. He is on countless outside requests by police and other government, having full knowledge and input on what is going on in Marinette County troubles.
This is a man who fights hard for the values you treasure and has successfully advised many departments and organizations on the better ways to solve problems. Making sure you cast your vote for Allen Brey WILL make Marinette County a better place to live.
He is the better choice without a doubt. You can be 100% positive that he is not swayed by any political party or special interest or their money. His assets are hard work, dedication, honesty and fairness. He is dedicated to you, your family, your neighbors and Marinette County.
The stakes are too high for you to stay home and not vote. Without a single doubt, Allen Brey is the right man for judge. Please make your vote count for Allen on April 2.

This letter is in regard to your upcoming election for Circuit Court Judge. I am writing this in support of Allen Brey in his bid for this position. I have no doubt that Allen Brey will make an exceptional judge for the citizens of Marinette County.
As lead detective for the Taylor County Sheriffs Department, I worked hand in hand with Allen from 1985-1992 during his tenure as Taylor County District Attorney. Allen worked tirelessly as a prosecutor, was at all times meticulously prepared, and his conduct was very professional. Whenever necessary, Allen made himself available to answer questions and assist me in my investigations. His knowledge of the law and willingness to help was invaluable. In my 34 years of law enforcement, I have worked with many District Attorneys. Allen firmly holds the top position on that list, both in his knowledge of the law and his ability to utilize that knowledge in the court room.
The voters of Marinette County are fortunate to have a qualified candidate like Allen Brey for their Circuit Court Judge.
