Florence A. Holmes, 78, of Suring passed on Monday, March 25.
Born in Townsend to the late Otto and Hazel (Bennett) Klawitter on Jan. 2, 1935, she married Orrin Holmes on Sept. 29, 1956 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes.
The couple raised their family and enjoyed activities together, including gardening, berry picking and fishing. She was an excellent baker, especially her homemade pies. She loved spending time with her family and created happy memories with her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed and worked at Evenflow for 20 years.
Survivors include three sons, David Holmes of Bonduel, DuWayne Dewey Holmes of Suring and Kenneth (Maddy) Holmes of Pulaski; a daughter, Dawn Holmes of Winneconne; three brothers, Richard Dick (Florence) Klawitter of Suring, Mike (Kathy) Klawitter of Claremore, Okla. and John (Jean) Klawitter of Darien, Ga.; two sisters, Edna (Bill) McLaughlin of Whitewater and Sally (Roger) Gustafson of Iron River; a brother-in-law, Bob Weiler of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Lynn Klawitter of New Franken and three grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin on Oct. 1, 2006; a sister, Audrie Weiler and a brother, Bob Klawitter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Scheunemann will officiate and burial will be in Breed Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed.
