Robert J. Mittag
Robert J. Mittag, 73, of Marinette passed away on Tuesday, March 26 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
Born on June 17, 1939 to the late Robert E. and Pauline (Erickson) Mittag in Marinette, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1957. On Aug. 29, 1959 he married Patricia Weber at St. Joseph's Church.
He worked as an Assistant Manager at the A&P Grocery Store in Iron River, Mi. and then at Scott Paper Company for 34 years, retiring in 1994. After retiring he worked with Marinette County Elderly Services, delivering meals on wheels and then Taxi Inc. for over 10 years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and enjoyed nature, feeding birds, taking photos and loved spending time with his nine grandchildren and great-grandson.
His wife of 53 years, Pat survives, along with four sons, Edward (Janette) Mittag of Franklin, Daniel (Elizabeth) Mittag, Brian (Amy) Mittag and Andrew (Traci) Mittag, all of Green Bay; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is further survived by a sister, Carole (Steven) England of Wyoming, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Richard Yenchesky of Wallace, Mi. and Wayne (Joyce) Weber of Oceanside, Calif. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia and Karen.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Thielen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
