Elin A. Nerenhausen
The family of Elin Ann Nerenhausen, 70, of Oconto, received relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Rev. Peter Dorn officiated. She passed away on Tuesday, March 19.
Born Dec. 25, 1942 in Oconto to the late William Muff and Leona Belgian (Thome) McCartney, she married Peter Nerenhausen on June 16, 1962.
She worked for Bond Pickle Co., Oconto for 25 years and enjoyed knitting mittens, cooking, bowling and playing cards. She put the needs of others before her own and was known for her famous Belgian biscuit dinners and Thanksgiving get togethers. Her most joyful moments were visiting family.
Survivors include a son, Daniel (Bonnie) Nerenhausen; daughters, Linda (Michael) Carnahan, Amy (Tom) White and Cindy (Phillip) Nerenhausen; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brothers, Bill, Randy, Patrick, Larry and Richard (Cheryl) McCartney and sisters, Janice White, Penny (Jim) Juza, Sandy Kilcrease, Diana Kain and JoAnn (Louie) Runge.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Nerenhausen; brothers, Harold Punk Smith, Ted McCartney and Robert McCartney; a great-granddaughter, Danielle Wilke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jake and Mable Nerenhausen and other relatives.
