Elizabeth Ann Otradovec, 72, of Powers, Mi., died at her home on Saturday, March 30, with loved ones close by, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 3, 1940 to Ruben and Martha (Bertrand) Doyen in Menominee, MI. she was raised in Stephenson, Mi. and graduated from Stephenson High School in 1958.
She married Howard Otradovec in August 1958 at St. Frederick Catholic Church in Daggett. She moved to Powers a while ago and lived there until her death. A member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church of Spalding, she was also active with the St. Anne's Society and a member of the Powers Spalding Lions Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, cooking and helping others. The company of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were most important in her life.
Surviving are three children, Scott of Powers, Mi., Karen (David) Broeders of Bark River, Mi. and Lisa (Tony) Walechka of Wilson, Mi.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and a second great-grandchild expected this summer; a brother, James Doyen; a sister, Mary Sievert and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joe, John and Gene; a sister, Therese Wery; a sister-in-law, Nina Doyen; a brother-in-law, Edwin Wery; a great-nephew, Travis Thompson and special friend, Donald DeMille.
Friends may call at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Spalding on Wednesday, April 3 from 1 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. Fr. Michael Ocran will officiate and burial will be in Nadeau Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, Mi. is serving the family. Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life Association in her honor.
