Elvira C. Uecke, 93, formerly of Menominee passed away on her birthday, Wednesday, March 27 at the Luther Home.
Born on March 27, 1920 in Marinette to the late Herbert and Blanche (Savard) Wickman, she graduated from Marinette High School, Class of 1938.
In 1942 she married Arthur Kienitz and he preceded her in death in June of 1960. She later married Frank F. Uecke on June 26, 1970 in Menominee who preceded her in death on March 29, 2004. She was a homemaker her whole life and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee, the VFW Auxiliary, the Ladies Aids, Ladies Mission Society and the Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed going on the casino bus for day and overnight trips to different casinos to play bingo and also enjoyed watching deer, looking at scenery and knitting.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Kahl of Marinette; two sons, Daniel (Marge) Kienitz of Menominee and Thomas (Linette) Kienitz of Little Suamico; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Wickman.
Family and friends called at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Menominee on Monday, April 1 from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Pastor Doug Schoen officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee. Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family.
