Ronald L. Connaher
Ronald L. Connaher, 74, of Peshtigo passed away on Saturday, March 30 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette after a brave 18 month battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 29, 1938 in Marinette to Alan and Dorothy (Foote) Connaher, he served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Greer County from 1956 until 1959.
He worked for many years at the former Kargard Manufacturing in Marinette, then in 1981 continued his career at Lenox Candles in Oshkosh and as Molding Superintendent at Tricon Industries in Downers Grove, Ill. until his retirement in 2001.
He enjoyed everything involving sports, especially the Packers and also working in his yard, cooking, playing cards with close friends and spending time with family. He married the former Donna Decker at St. Annes Church on Sept. 15, 1962 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2012 with over 100 guests.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Mesnard; four granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Lewandowski and Vivian (Bill) Prince; two brothers-in-law, Ted (Sharon) Decker and Darrell (Nada) Decker; a sister-in-law, Julie Decker and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth; a sister-in-law, Elsa Connaher (Timper); a brother-in-law, Gene Lewandowski and a brother-in-law, Dennis Decker.
Family and friends were invited to attend a visitation at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, with a parish vigil at 7 p.m. led by Deacon Jerome Thetreau. A honors ceremony was conducted by the Military 20 Year Club. A Funeral Mass was offered at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3 at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St., by Rev. Joseph Dorner. Interment was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
