THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Edwin Ed Migel, 89, of Brookside died Wednesday, April 3 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls with his family by his side.
Born July 17, 1923 in New Hope, he married Helen Jendrusiak on Jan. 19, 1946 in Chicago and she preceded him in death in 2001.
He was a Teamster truck driver for many years until retiring and enjoyed farming his own farm in Brookside. He also enjoyed gardening, playing horse shoes, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Stiles.
Surviving are five children, Theresa (John) Pease of Decatur, Ill., David (Velina) of Sherwood, Ariz., Alice Wright and Raymond (significant other Beth), both of Oconto and Robert of Brookside; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; a son, Irwin; a grandson, Alex; a son-in-law, Rick Wright and four sisters and two brothers.
Friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Oconto on Saturday, April 6 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Deacon Walt Kaszynski officiated and entombment was at Nicolet Memorial Gardens, Green Bay.
