Hilda E. Schroeder
Hilda E. Schroeder, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 13 at Rennes Health Center-West, Peshtigo.
Born on Aug. 8, 1923, daughter of the late Curt and Emma (Goldsmidth) Zorn, she married Alfred L. Schroeder on June 20, 1942 at St. Johns Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1980.
A lifetime member of St. Johns Church, she belonged to St. Johns Ladies Aid, was a substitute Sunday School Teacher and former superintendent of the Sunday school. She was an avid gardener and talented seamstress and caterer. She also enjoyed babysitting and was a wonderful caregiver.
She is survived by three sons, Alfred, jr. Schroeder, Douglas (Karen) Schroeder and Edwin (Shelley) Schroeder; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara (Wayne) Hoffman and Mrs. Connie (Jim) Seefeldt; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Dianne) Zorn; three sisters, Viola Lewitzke, Delores (Robert) Begotka and Della (Harold) McKenny; a brother-in-law, Edwin Soultz and three sisters-in-law, Joyce, Edith and Elouise Zorn.
Along with her parents and her husband Alfred, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy; three brothers, Leonard, LaVerne and Paul and two sisters, Hattie Mayou and Mabel Soultz
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Grover from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Pastor Charles Learman officiated and burial was in St. Johns Cemetery. Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home, Peshtigo assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for St. Johns Ladies Aid has been established in her memory.
