Times Publishes List Of Unclaimed Property
This weeks issue of the Peshtigo Times contains names of Unclaimed Property on pages 4 and 5 of Section B. Over 500 names of individuals and businesses in Marinette County are listed in alphabetical order.
Wisconsin State Treasurer Kurt Schuller is publishing all new names received in 2013 in newspapers statewide over a three month period.
Each year corporations turn over cash, securities and contents of safe deposit boxes to the Office of State Treasurer. The Unclaimed Property Unit helps reunite Wisconsinites or former Wisconsin residents and businesses with lost funds.
We want people to have their money, Schuller said. We have more than $400 million in unclaimed property in our Treasury account. My staff works hard to get these financial assets or items back to rightful owners and heirs.
The public notices began April 2 in Fond du Lac County and ends June 28 in Sauk County. The papers of record in each county will list the new names received this year.
