Eleanor C. Ruby
Eleanor C. Ruby, 95, of McAllister passed away Tuesday, April 16 at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
Born Aug. 12, 1917 in Chicago, Ill. to Bror Axel and Theresa Westberg, some of her early years were spent in the Amberg area before her family returned to Chicago, where she graduated from high school. On May 23, 1936 she married Peter P. Ruby in Indiana and they eventually settled in McAllister where she was a longtime resident.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Kohon and Kathleen Rasmussen, both of Menominee, Pete Ruby and Tom (Sherry) Ruby, both of McAllister, Sharon (Paul) Knox of Paradise, Mi. and Betty Runnoe of Porterfield; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Katherine Keenan of Foresthill, Calif. and two brothers, Henry (Carol) Westberg of Pound and Ronald (Kathleen) Westberg of St. Paul, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; one grandson; one great-grandson; a sister, Viola Christensen and a brother, Bror Axel Westberg.
Friends called at the Community Lutheran Church in McAllister after 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church with Rev. Paul Hueter officiating. Burial was in Tabor Lutheran Cemetery. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home of Marinette served the family.
